which is at par with the US dollar. Both currencies
can be used anywhere in the Bahamas. All major credit
cards are accepted and ATM machines are readily

What is the weather like in Abaco? |

Cooled by the
prevailing south-easterly trade winds in the summer
and warmed by the surrounding waters and the Gulf
Stream in winter, the climate on Abaco is rarely
uncomfortably hot or cold. The most refreshing time
is from September through May when the temperature
averages 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit. The rest of the
year is a bit warmer with temperatures between 80-85
degrees. The average daily highs during the winter
months are 78° F. and the daily lows are 68°

What are my transportation options once
I arrive? |

Car Rentals are available at the Treasure Cay
airport and Mash Harbour. There are also scooter,
motorbike, golf cart and of course, boat
rentals. |

use their home license for up to three months and

cellular phone service is available, some
areas of the island may experience poor or no reception.

Can we bring our dog with us on vacation? |
| A. |
Pets over 6 months of
age are allowed into the Bahamas as long as you
have a permit. You can get a permit by writing to
the Director of Agriculture, attn. Permit Section,
Post Office Box N-3704, Nassau, Bahamas. Include
your full name and address, the expected date of
arrival, your pet's sex, age, breed, country of
export, and your final destination in the Bahamas.
There is an application fee of $10, which covers
one or more of the same type of animal, but if you
need the permit quickly send $15 instead and they
will fax it to you.
